1. PSEO & CIS Enrollment and Dropping Classes
Description:
Please help me gather the requested information for our board members. 1. Do any high school students drop PSEO or College in the Schools courses after 5 days? 2. How many students in the past three years were enrolled in PSEO and/or College in the Schools courses? A breakdown by grade level would be great! Any other pertinent or helpful information would also be appreciated. Monica's Responses: 1. We have had a couple students, because of failing grades, drop PSEO courses after 5 days but it has been very few. Our RHS students have 3 days at the beginning of each semester to make schedule changes so that pretty much eliminates them from dropping CIS and ITV classes after 5 days. Most of our students take CIS and ITV classes through Central Lakes College. Here is CLC's policy for dropping a class: Add/Drop Policies PSEO students will be subject to the same add/drop/withdraw windows as other CLC students; however, PSEO students who never attend the course, stop attending a course, or withdraw from the course within the first 15 calendar days of the CLC term will have their registrations canceled and courses dropped from their schedules, in accordance with Minn. Stat. §124D.09, Article 1, Section 1, Sub.13. CIS students may make a change(s) in their course schedules only through the tenth (10th) class day of the class. Dropped classes do not appear on the students’transcript. 2. I will gather this information and get it to you. |

4. Audio Recording of Board Meetings
Description:
Liz contacted Jim and asked if we could have audio recordings of the board meetings. In the current location we don't have the technology connections. When we move board meetings to the new location on the south end we will have the capability. There are schools that actually live broadcast their board meetings. The last school where I worked at Kingsland televised every meeting. It does take on a different feel and approach. There are certainly pros and cons to televised meetings. |
