Description:
"I shall call this meeting of the Banquete ISD to order. Let the record show that a quorum of board members is present, that this meeting has been duly called, and that notice of the meeting has been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 551."

5. Public Participation (Open Forum) as per Policy BED (LOCAL):
Description:
In accordance with board policy BED LOCAL, the Banquete ISD Board of Trustees welcomes comments from citizens on any agenda items or non-agenda items at any regular scheduled board meeting. In the event of a special board meeting/board workshop, public comments will be limited to agenda items only. Those wishing to address the school board must provide their name for the record and observe a three-minute time limit. During this time, the Board of Trustees may not respond to the citizens' concerns as per the Texas Open Meetings Act. |

6.C. Discuss and Consider an Expenditure Exceeding $50,000 for the Repair of the High School Gym Floor.
Description:
The high school gym floor is in need of repair to address areas of wear, damage, and surface deterioration that impact both safety and functionality. Maintaining safe and high-quality athletic and extracurricular facilities is essential to supporting student participation and protecting district assets. Administration has obtained proposals for the necessary repairs, which include surface restoration, sanding, refinishing, and any required subfloor corrections. The recommended vendor has demonstrated the capacity to complete the work in a timely manner with minimal disruption to campus operations. In accordance with Board Policy CH(LOCAL), Board approval is required for expenditures exceeding $50,000. This project represents a necessary investment in the upkeep and longevity of district facilities. |

8.A. Discuss and Consider Approval of Probationary Teacher Contracts for the 2026-2027 School Year.
Description:
In accordance with the Texas Education Code (TEC §21.102) and Banquete ISD Board Policy DC(LEGAL) and DC(LOCAL), the Superintendent recommends the issuance of probationary contracts for eligible teaching staff for the 2026-2027 school year. Probationary contracts are issued to educators who are new to the district or who have not yet met the criteria for a term contract. These contracts allow the district to support, evaluate, and develop teachers while ensuring flexibility in staffing to best meet the instructional needs of students. Administration has reviewed staffing needs, certification requirements, and campus recommendations. The proposed list of employees recommended for probationary contracts has been compiled and is presented for Board consideration. |
