III. NEW BUSINESS

III.A. Approval - Letter of Resignation from Mr. Phillip Thornton (Custodial) with an Effective Date of Monday, July 29, 2024. Mr. Phillip Thornton’s last day worked was on July 18, 2024, when he turned in his keys and badge on the same day.

III.B. Approval - Application for Use of School Facilities (Rear Parking Lot), Submitted by Patrice Jackson – (Mexican Independence Day Parade) on Saturday, September 14, 2024.

III.C. Approval - Acceptance of the Heinemann Proposal dated July 10, 2024 for $51,178.88 (Utilizing 35 J Grant Monies).

III.D. Approval - 2024-2025 Lease Agreement Between Van Buren Intermediate School District and Covert Public Schools. VBISD shall pay CPS an annual rent of $20,000 for two preschool classrooms, $7,000 for a diagnostic room, and $10,388.40 for maintenance and janitorial services for a total annual rent of $37,888.40

III.E. Approval - Shared Services Agreement Between Van Buren Intermediate School District and Covert Public Schools.

III.F. Approval - Appointing One (1) Voting Delegate and One (1) Voting Delegate Alternate to Represent and Vote at MASB’s 2024 Delegate Assembly on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at the Lansing Center in Lansing, MI.

III.G. Approval - Recommendation from Superintendent, Yolanda Brunt, to Hire Ms. Bernina Moses for the Student Services Position for the 2024-2025 School Year to be Paid Between $16.07 - $17.92 per hour.

III.H. Approval - Recommendation from Superintendent, Yolanda Brunt, to Hire Ms. Adriana Saucedo as a SEIU Full-Time Bilingual Paraprofessional for the 2024-2025 School Year to be Paid Between $16.07 - $17.92 per hour.

III.I. Approval - Recommendation from Superintendent, Yolanda Brunt, to Hire Mrs. Rachel Symonds as the K-12 Principal Primary Elementary Administrator for the 2024-2025 School Year.

III.J. Approval - the Recommendation from Superintendent, Yolanda Brunt, to Hire Mr. Mark Petty as a Full-Time SEIU Custodian for the 2024-2025 School Year Pending Successful Personal Reference Check, Background Information and Drug Screen.

III.K. Approval - to Post a 12 Month Full-Time Custodial Supervisor Position
