D.2. Consider Monthly Expenditures for October 2020
Description:
The monthly expenditures is presented for the Board of Trustee review in the Revenue and Expenditures Report and the Check Register in the Financial Update Section.

D.3. Consider Amendment to the 2020-2021 General Fund Budget
Description:
GENERAL FUND
EXPENDITURES: The proposed amended budget includes: 1. Adding $50,000 to Function 51 for Disinfecting Spray Team Salary. 2. Adding $28,500 to Function 34 to replace motor in bus The General Fund deficit will be $ 3,710,466 after this amendment is approved. The net change to deficit with this amendment is $78,500. |
D.4. Consider Approval of Other Revenues Investment Policy - CDA (Local)
Description:
It is a legal requirement for this policy to be reviewed and approved by the School Board annually. An update to this policy was approved by the School Board on November 19, 2019. No changes have been made to the policy since that date.
The District is required to inform the board of any Public Funds Investment Act Legislation changes. The following changes occurred during the 2019 legislative session:
Janette Owens, the District's Investment Officer, received the required 10 hours of training on October 21st and 22nd of 2020. |
D.5. Consider Approval of Vendor for Purchase of Technology Equipment and Services
Description:
The District received a quote from Weaver Technologies for two additional servers,additional storage space, services to install and configure hardware, etc.. The District recommends Weaver Technologies as the vendor at a total cost of $140,135.96. This additional technology is needed to support the devices added to the infrastructure due to COVID.
This purchase was part of the amendment to the general fund budget that was approved in July 2020. |
D.6. Consider Approval of Vendor for Replacing the Motor in a Bus
Description:
The District received a quote from Gold Star Transportation via Southwest International for the replacement of the motor in a bus. Gold Star personnel recommend using this vendor for this service. The amount quoted is $ 28,498.09. Gold Star Transportation will pay the vendor and bill White Settlement ISD.
The proposed amended budget includes this item. |
D.7. Consider Approval to Change the Authorized Representatives on District Investment Accounts
Description:
Due to the changes in the personnel in the Accountant and Activity Accountant positions, the authorized representatives on the TexPool, TexStar, and Lone Star accounts will need changing as follows:
1. Shelly Blassingame- remove from all three accounts 2. Debra Burnett (new Accountant) - add to TexPool and Lone Star 3. Tina Hardin (new Activity Accountant) - add to Tex Star Account |

E.1. Consider Approval of the 2019-2020 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report
Description:
Representatives from Pattillo, Brown, & Hill L.L.P., the districts auditing firm, will present the 2019-2020 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the year ended June 30, 2020. The District received an unqualified opinion on the Financial Statements, report on Internal Controls, and Report on Internal Controls and Compliance with Federal Awards. See attached report.

E.2. Consider Ratification of Vendor for Purchase of Door Lock and Camera Security System
Description:
The District released a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Door Lock and Camera Security System. At the October School Board Meeting, the School Board gave approval for district staff to select the vendor in order to facilitate the urgency of this order. The District is requesting the board to ratify Batts Security as the vendor at a cost of $ 63,851.
The October 2020 amended budget included this item. |
E.3. Consider Approval of Vendor for Purchase of Vans
Description:
The District released a Request for Proposal for three vans. Two of the vans will be used in the operations department and one van in the technology department. The District personnel recommends using Jerry's GM at a total cost of $75,500 (net of trade-ins). The vans are 2021 Chevy Cargo Vans. The trade-ins are two 2002 GMC Sierra Trucks.
This purchase will be funded from the Marketing Activity Account. |
