Rationale:
This revision aligns JECB's open enrollment application deadlines with the last Friday in September and January and adds a priority-review window before the August board meeting, so approved students can start on the first day of school. It also limits the emergency clause to children of active-duty military, adds sibling priority, and creates a new Section E defining enrollment of employees' children as a benefit of active employment, with a transition through the end of the school year.

12. Operational Support Services Items:
|
|
12.A. Hear Informational Reading of Revised Policy GCN - Professional Teaching Staff Evaluation and Policy JHCC-R - Student Communicable Conditions Regulation
Rationale:
The current lice language requires that no live lice remain and that nits be reduced before a student returns to class, which is stricter than CDC guidance. The CDC recommends that healthy students not be excluded or sent home early for head lice or nits, since lice are not a health hazard and nits are unlikely to spread to others. This updated policy aligns more with CDC guidelines and typical school practices.
