5. Opportunity for Audience
Description:
Any citizen who would like to address the Board will be able to do so as the item on the regular agenda. Comments will be limited to 2 minutes per subject. If further time is needed, concerns should be addressed to the Superintendent. Personnel matters will not be discussed in a public meeting. Items that appear under the heading Routine and Regular Business will not be discussed or comments taken unless it is requested that they be removed from that category and placed on the regular agenda. Action on Routine and Regular Business will be acted upon with one motion and one vote.
Discussion:
Danny Hernandez - Secretary for BPA - over 100 students combined that will go to State this year. A lot of resources - Eddy County residents - judge to conferences - Need approx 100 judges and sign up to do technical projects and in person judging. knowledge scan the QR Code.
Janelle King - as a parent - asking to review district discipline policies. Altercations with police involvement. School altercation and id not initiate the incident he stood up for himself . he was handcuffed and taken to jail in a cell. Serious policy consent - 12 year old. State law authorizes discipline. Guidance from NM - ..appropriate - when less is available polices do not - mutual fighting - inconsistent application. written threshold . parent notification is not - current policy fighting is not tolerated. does not clearly explain when that involvement - reporting if student stand up for themselve - they may choose silence. request to algin with state policies. review and clarify to insure they are clear consisting and developmentally appropriate. |

1. R360 Recognition - Darin Warren for past 11 years donated bikes to kids in need. 5 trucks, trailer and lots of staff. Over 162 bike including helmets and the kids are so excited. Staff is wonderful!! - THanks for all your support and Community Partner. - Grateful for the interaction with the students.
2.Early College High School - Excellenace in both State and National Levels - Best High School by Us World and News REport - NMPED - Exemplary Status. only 4 in the state to receive award. Stacy Verdin - working very hard and appreciate all the students and staff. They go beyond what is expected. 3.Immunization 2024 Champion Award - Megan Perez, Head Nurse - working with Public Health Office - Vaccines 3-18 years. Administer Vaccines - Mass vaccination clincs. Megan - received from NM Coalitioin - above and beyond - thanks to the team of nurses. 4.
