Description:  Roll Call: Certification by the President that, "The Provisions of Section 551.041 Sub Chapter C, Government Code as Amended by the 73rd Legislature have been complied with in connection with public notice of this meeting and a quorum is present."

5.B. Reconvene from Closed Session for action relative to items considered during Closed Session.
5.C. Conduct reorganization of the Board of Trustees for 2018-2019.
Description:  At the first meeting after each election and qualification of Trustees, the Board shall elect a President, a Vice President, and a Secretary who shall be members of the Board. The Board may assign a District employee to provide clerical assistance to the Board.  Officers shall be elected by majority vote of the members present in accordance with Board Policy BDAA (Local) and Board Operating Guidelines Sec. 16.

9.A. Hear the WHS/NGC campus report.
Description:  Principal Dr. Doug Funk and Associate Principal Dr. Andy Smith will share a presentation to demonstrate how their teachers challenge and inspire them in a safe, nurturing environment to succeed in the global community.

9.B. Review the Leading Indicator Process (LIP) report.
Description:  The Leading Indicator Process for the Weatherford ISD is reported to the Board to reflect progress toward the accomplishment of the five Strategic Goals in the WISD 2013-2018 Strategic Plan. The data reported for each Strategic Goal are “In-Process” or “Predictive” measures as defined in each Strategic Action Plan.  The tracking of these indicators allows the administration to initiate “Mid-Course Corrections” or interventions to the improvement efforts outlined in Strategic Action Plans that are not achieving the desired results.

9.C. Hear School Health Advisory Council annual report.
Description:  Board Policy BDF(LEGAL) states that the School Health Advisory Council shall submit to the board, at least annually, a written report that includes information regarding the Council's recommendations, modifications, and activities.

9.E. Hear the May 1, 2018 District Education Improvement Council meeting information.
Description:  The Weatherford ISD District Educational Improvement Council met on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.  An agenda and minutes are provided.

9.F. Hear 2018-2019 Student Handbook.
Description:  The draft 2018-2019 Weatherford ISD Student Handbook is provided for Board review.  This handbook follows the Model Student Handbook provided to Weatherford ISD by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) to assist in communicating essential information to students and parents.  The Model is based on provisions, legislation, and practices common to Texas schools and will be used by all Weatherford ISD campuses.

Description:  Each year the PCAD audit is presented for the Board’s review.

to apply for Optional Flexible School Day Program for 2018-2019.
Description:  A Public Hearing will be held to discuss applying for the Optional Flexible School Day Program for the 2018-2019 school year.

Description:  The Public Funds Investment Act (Gov’t Code 2256.005(f) and Board Policy CDA (Local) requires the designation of investment officers.

Description:  Consider approving board resolution and interlocal agreement with Region 8 Educational Service Center – The Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS).

Description:  The Education Service Center Region 11 (ESC 11) offers multiple services to school districts.   Administration recommends continuing the partnership between Weatherford ISD and the ESC 11 for the 2018-2019 school year to provide the identified services.

12.F. Consider Weatherford ISD Defender Program.
Description:  During the 2017-2018 school year, Administration, at the request of the Board of Trustees, researched various safety measures that would help provide an improved District safety plan for Weatherford ISD students and staff.  The Board of Trustees held Town Hall meetings to gather input from students, staff, and community, and put forth a public report of the gathered survey data at the May 14, 2018 Board meeting.   The Board of Trustees is being asked to consider a concealed carry program, known as the Defender Program.
