7. Consideration and Possible Action Regarding Roof Repairs at the Old High School Gym, Daycare, and Elementary Cafeteria (Action Considered)
Description:
The Board will review and discuss proposed roofing work at the Old High School Gym and daycare, along with an optional project to install TPO on the existing elementary cafeteria HVAC ducts. Rhynehart Roofing provided the District a proposal in June 2026 and has stated that it will honor the quoted pricing. Rhynehart is an approved TIPS vendor.
The proposal includes:
The District budgeted $170,000 for capital improvements for the 2026-2027 school year. The proposed work can be completed within that amount, but completing all three options would leave approximately $25,295 available for other capital needs during the remainder of the year. The Old High School Gym and daycare roofs both need replacement. The District will also need to address damage to the Old High School Gym flooring after the roof is repaired. Option 3 is not currently a priority but would address the elementary cafeteria HVAC ducts while the contractor is completing the other roofing work. The Board may consider proceeding with some or all of the proposed work or delaying action until later in the school year when the District has a clearer picture of its budget and other capital needs. |
