Description:  Motion by                              to accept the letter of resignation from Nicole Fedie, middle school teacher, effective at the end of the 2020-2021 school year.  We thank Nicole for her 2 years of dedicated service to the students of our district.

10. RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATIONS
Description: 
The following resolution was introduced by ___________________________                                     

        RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATIONS
    WHEREAS, MS 123B.02, Subd. 6 provides:  "The board may receive, for the benefit of the district, bequests, donations, or gifts for any proper purpose and apply the same to the purpose designated.  In that behalf, the board may act as trustee of any trust created for the benefit of the district, or for the benefit of pupils thereof, including trusts created to provide pupils of the district with advanced education after completion of high school, in the advancement of education."; and
   WHEREAS, MS 465.03 provides: "Any city, county, school district or town may accept a grant or devise of real or personal property and maintain such property for the benefit of its citizens in accordance with the terms prescribed by the donor.  Nothing herein shall authorize such acceptance or use for religious or sectarian purposes.  Every such acceptance shall be by resolution of the governing body adopted by a two-thirds majority of its members, expressing such terms in full."; and

   THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the School Board of Menahga Public School Dist 821 gratefully accept the following donations as identified below:

13.1. RETIREMENTS/RESIGNATIONS
Description:  Note:  These letters are conditional on the approval of the early retirement agreements and should only be acted upon if that motion passes.

14. BUDGET
14.1. APPROVE BUDGET REDUCTIONS FOR 2021-2022 SY
Description:  Motion by                         to reduce the following positions: one building principal; 8.5 FTE certified staff  (4 elementary positions, 1 special education position, 3.5 positions in grades 7-12/specialists) and direct the administrative team to identify and bring forward the appropriate resolutions for non-renewal and/or placement on unrequested leave of absence (ULA).
It is understood that for the 2021-2022 fiscal year early retirements will be absorbed by current staff unless directed differently by the School Board. It is further understood that the purchase of buses will be suspended for at least one year and the purchase of technology will be limited to replacement and maintenance purchases. All major technology purchases shall be delayed one year.
