Description:  February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) month honoring students who have chosen to pursue career and technical education as a means of acquiring real-world skills to compete in the workforce.
7. National School Counseling Week Proclamation

Description:  National School Counseling week is being celebrated this week, February 7-11, 202. "School Counseling: Better Together,", this week we want to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within systems and the positive influence our counselors have on students lives. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in assisting students achieve school success and plan for their future career.

This proclamation provides recognition for school counselors who implement comprehensive school counseling programs, a vital part of the education process for all students as they meet the challenges of the 21st century.

Description:  We discussed this item during a previous board meeting.
Snyder ISD has a new grant opportunity available to support school health to help prevent and combat COVID-19.  Snyder ISD has been allocated $100,591.  An allowable expense for this grant under TEA's guidelines is to purchase portable air purifiers for our district. The total cost should be just over $100,000, so the district would be responsible for no more than $4,409 (the difference between the request expenditure amount and the total grant allocation). This expenditure would be in excess of $25,000.

Before any closed meeting is convened, the presiding officer will publicly identify the section or sections of the Act authorizing the closed meeting. 12.A. Resolution Regarding Employee Pay During Health Related and Weather Related Emergencies during the 2021-2022 Spring Semester.
Description:  Description:  This will allow us to pay our employees that do not report to work during health and weather related closures.  Additionally, it will allow us to pay our employees (primarily maintenance and custodial) extra-duty pay for their work during periods of health and weather related closures.

13.A. Snyder ISD Evergreen - Cooling System Replacement
Presenter:  Clay Cade
Description:  When the Evergreen facility was purchased the original, larger facility was in need of a roof replacement and a cooling system replacement.  At the time, the cooling system replacement was put off until it became necessary to utilize the space.

The south greenhouse is completely full, so it is time to replace the cooling wall.  This replacement is expected to be in excess of $25,000 which will require board approval.

Cost estimates will be provided at the meeting for review.
