9. EXTENDED COVID-19 LEARNING PLAN
As outlined in Public Act 149 of 2020, districts are required to create an extended COVID-19 learning plan for the 2020-21 academic year. Michigan legislature recently passed House Bills 5911, 5912, 5913 (2020) signed by Governor Whitmer on August 20, 2020. Under the new law, in order to receive state aid for the 2020-2021 school year, the District must provide, for the 2020 2021 school year, instruction under an extended COVID-19 learning plan that is reauthorized monthly by the Board of Education. Administration recommends the Board reauthorize the Walled Lake Schools' Extended COVID-19 Learning Plan plan as presented.
10. NEW COURSE OFFERINGS - CURRICULUM ADOPTION
The new course offering, Cybersecurity (CTE Course), was presented at the January 7, 2021, Board meeting. The new course offering for the Program of Studies has been endorsed by Administration and is being presented to the Board for the approval of its adoption.
11. PURCHASE OF NEW BUSES - Bus Award Bid
Administration has obtained and analyzed bids through the Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO) Aggregate Bus Purchasing Program and recommends the award of nineteen (19) replacement buses to Hoekstra Transportation, Inc.  This purchase will be funded from the 2019 Bond Fund.

12. RESOLUTION: ELECTRONIC BOARD MEETINGS AND REMOTE PARTICIPATION
In November 2020, the Michigan Legislature made significant changes to the Open Meetings Act (OMA), MCL 15.261, et seq., in response to the continued threat of COVID-19. Recently, additional changes were made. In light of the remaining uncertainty surrounding COVID. The proposed resolution contains the necessary detailed procedures the Board must follow to remain in compliance with the OMA through December 31, 2021 and provides instruction for how the Board must operate beginning January 1, 2022. Should the OMA be amended in the near future, the Board will only be required to pass an amended resolution. Administration recommends the Board adopt the proposed Resolution regarding Electronic Board Meetings and Remote Participation.
13. BOARD MEETING DATES FOR 2021-22
Administration recommends the continuation of one regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting a month per the proposed calendar.  One additional monthly meeting will also be held in reserve if a second meeting is needed.

14. RESOLUTION: MASB BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTION FOR REGION 8
The Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) requests that the Walled Lake Schools Board of Education officially select one candidate for the MASB Board of Director, Region 8 three-year term. The candidates are as follows:
•    Sandra Dukhie, Ferndale Public Schools 
•    Mary Hanser, Oxford Community Schools 
•    Birgit McQuiston, Lake Orion Community Schools 
•    Gina Walker, New Haven Community Schools
