Public Comment on Agenda Items

Public participation is limited to the designated public comment portion of the meeting.  In accordance with District Policy BED (Local), the Board may impose reasonable time limits on this portion of the meeting.  Persons who wish to address the board shall submit a request by 5:00 PM before the meeting begins and shall indicate the topic about which they wish to speak. Only items on the agenda may be addressed and items not on the agenda will be directed to the Superintendent or designee.  No presentation shall exceed five minutes (ten minutes if a translator is required).  Delegations of more than five persons shall appoint one person to present their views before the Board.

Information Agenda

Presentation of Delinquent Tax Collection Report for the period of July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025.

Recognize Ms. Nianna Gustovich for the grant from Texas DAR Society for the Title I Texas Classroom Grant in the amount of $500.00.

Consent Agenda

Approve the minutes for the Regular Board Meeting of August 25, 2025.

Approve the following Valley View ISD MOUs (Memorandums of Understanding) and Agreements for 2025-2026, as recommended by the administration:

Jurisdictional and Interagency Support MOU with Hidalgo Police Department and Pharr Police Department.

Interlocal Cooperation Agreement with the City of Hidalgo for the Cops in Schools program.

UMOS, Inc. Head Start program MOU for the time period of August 1, 2025 through May 31, 2028.

Contract with LPC-A (Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate) to provide counseling and mental health services.

Action Agenda

Approve the Tax Rate Calculation Forms as an appendix to the FY 2025-2026 Budget, as recommended by the administration.

Approve the following expenses over $10,000.00 as recommended by the administration:

Renewal of participation in the TASB Risk Fund for Worker's Compensation for fiscal year 2025-2026 in the amount of $87,926.00 (Local Funds)

Renewal of participation in the TASB Risk Fund for Unemployment Insurance for fiscal year 2025-2026 in the amount of $45,845.00 (Local Funds)

Renewal of Curriculum Associates iReady software licenses for 2025-2026 in the amount of $28,984.50 (IMA Funds)

Renewal of Lowman software licenses for 2025-2026 in the amount of $14,000.00 (Federal Funds)

Purchase of student chromebooks in the approximate amount of $13,571.50 (Migrant Funds)

Renewal of Region I Library Services & Instructional Resources Virtual Library Cooperative in the amount of $14,140.72 (Federal Funds)

Renewal purchase of the District Time Clock Plus system in the approximate amount of $39,278.00 (Local Funds)
