1.G.4. Conclusion of long-term boundary study of area south of Antelope Drive. First and FINAL
Presenter:
Ms. Traci Robbins, Elementary Director
Description:
In board meeting on November 19, 2024 the board approved the initiation of a broad boundary study to better understand the impact of declining student enrollment in all elementary schools south of Antelope Drive. The study resulted in a better understanding of student population trends and enrollment challenges, but the scope of the study was too broad to yield specific recommendations for boundary changes, program closures, and/or school closures. Administration recommends that the study be concluded without changes to boundaries - except for the changes identified through the other boundary studies initiated by the board on November 19, 2024 (study of Sand Springs & Sunburst Elementary schools - completed April 15, 2025; study of Eagle Bay & Canyon Creek Elementary schools - pending completion May 6, 2025; and the study addressing elementary schools affected by the forthcoming opening of elementary #2 - ongoing study.) Additional future boundary studies may be necessary to address areas of significant enrollment challenges, but they will be addressed through in-depth individual studies focusing on localized areas of the district.
