Description:
Ms. Leah Johnson, 5th grader attending Davis Connect K-6, will perform a story titled, "Lion Lessons" by Jon Agee. Her classroom teacher is Ms. Emma Ormond. Her storytelling advisors are Ms. Linsey Clawson and Ms. Cindy Hugie.

1.G.4. Head Start and Renaissance Academy Roof Replacement (exhibit)

Description:
The roofs of the Head Start Building in Kaysville and the Renaissance Academy have been battered by the wind storms over the years and are in need of replacement. Both buildings will have the existing shingles removed and replaced with new heavy grade shingles. Metal facia and rain gutters will also be replaced. Work will begin in June and is expected to be completed in August.

1.G.5. Centerville Elementary Partial Roof Replacement (exhibit)

Description:
All of the existing built-up roofing areas (flat roof portions) on Centerville Elementary will be removed to the structural deck. The deck will be covered with a new layer of insulation and a single-ply roofing membrane. Some metal flashing will be replaced as needed. Work is expected to begin in June and completed by mid-August. Roofing contractors have expressed concerns about the manufacturing and supply issues for roofing membranes. The construction schedule may need to be adjusted.

Description:
Before you for approval is the purchase of approximately 0.8 acres and building located in Layton. The purpose will be to build a Teen Homeless Shelter for the youth of Davis County. This is a partnership between the District through our Foundation, Layton CIty, and Davis County. The funds to purchase the site as well as the construct the facility have been raised through donations. This facility will satisfy a real need in our community. We recommend approval.
