Description:
This is an annual renewal of our MOU with Baylor Scott and White McLane Children’s Hospital. The MOU documents the responsibilities of BSW McLane Children’s Hospital and Temple ISD regarding the education of hospitalized students in grades K-12. Serving hospitalized students is an educational requirement. TISD receives revenue through average daily attendance accounting.

VIII.F.2. Bell County Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP), 2019-2020

Description:
Texas Education Code §37.011 requires juvenile boards and independent school district in counties with a population of 125,000 or more to work cooperatively to provide an alternative education program to serve those students who have been expelled from schools. Services are provided through the Bell County Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program. Similar to last year’s MOU, students assigned to JJAEP for discretionary expulsions are enrolled at a district cost of $103 per student per enrolled day.

VIII.F.5. City of Temple (The Zone) 2019-2020

Description:
The City of Temple has provided afterschool services for parents and students at selected elementary campuses through “The Zone” program. Last year, The Zone was at Cater, Thornton, Western Hills and Kennedy-Powell and they would like to continue the program at the same campuses for 2019-2020.

VIII.F.9. Heart of Texas Coop-Regional Day School Services

Description:
This is a new agreement between Temple ISD and the Heart of Texas Special Education Coop to allow the Temple Regional Day School for the Deaf to provide services to students from the HOT Coop. The Coop serves students in Bruceville-Eddy, Crawford, McGregor, Moody, Oglesby, and Valley Mills ISD’s. Temple RDSPD will receive ADA for students attending Temple campuses and any RDSPD revenue shortfall will be billed to the respective districts within the Coop in the same manner as current RDSPD districts are billed.

Description:
According to the Texas Education Code 37.001, the board of trustees of an independent school district is mandated to adopt a student code of conduct. This code is required to specific circumstances under which a student may be removed from a classroom or campus as well as specify conditions a student may or must be assigned to a DAEP, expelled from the district or assigned to a JJAEP.
