Description:  The Board President to call the meeting of the Van Alstyne Independent School District to order. Let the record show that a quorum of board members is present, that this meeting has been duly called, and that notice of this meeting has been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 551.

Description:  At this time, the Board will go into Executive Session as allowed by the Texas Open Meetings Act.

Description:  551-071 For the purpose of a private consultation with its attorney only when it seeks the attorney's advice about pending or contemplated litigation or a settlement offer or on a matter in which the duty of the attorney to the Board under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with the requirement for open meetings.

Description:  For the purpose of deliberating the purchase, exchange, lease, or value of real property if deliberation in an open meeting would have a detrimental effect on the position of the District in negotiations with a third person.

Description:  Community members are given the opportunity to express their opinions, concerns, or suggestions related to or regarding items outlined in the Board meeting agenda.

Description:  Consideration and possible action to approve the proposed list of new library materials for purchase, as recommended and previously posted for a 30-day public review period on the District website (the list is attached as Exhibit A of the Board packet), in accordance with Board Policy EFB (Local) and Texas Education Code requirements.

Description:  ACTION ITEM: These items are considered routine by the School Board and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussions on items unless a school board member so requests, at which time the item will be removed from the consent agenda and will be considered in its normal sequence on the Agenda.

Description:  The state requires is to have armed personnel on each campus at ALL times. This is not feasible or possible. To mitigate this we were required to develop a good cause exception resolution to describe what we are doing and how we plan to mitigate. This resolution was developed with other ISD police departments in the area.

Description:  Consider and take action to accept the proposal from WRA for design services for a new elementary school.

Description:  Consider and take action to accept the proposal from Gallagher Construction for elementary school #4.

Description:  Two budget amendments are to be reviewed and approved.
