5. Discussion and Possible Approval of Resolution Regarding Wages During School Closures
Description:
When natural disasters and other disruptions happen in schools, there are times when employees are told not to attend work due to dangerous or unsuitable conditions. Since schools are public institutions, workers who are told to stay home due to weather or other conditions may not receive pay unless the board adopts a resolution for paying wages during those times.
In order to pay workers who do not work because of disasters, storms, and/or other disruptions to school, the board of trustees must adopt a resolution regarding employee wages during periods of closure. That resolution is included for board discussion and consideration.

6. Discussion and Possible Action Regarding Sealed Proposals for a Contract Maintenance and Repair Company for Food Service Needs
Description:
The Texas Department of Agriculture requires the district to have a vendor contracted to complete maintenance and repairs. The Food Service sent a Request for Proposal for this reason.
A request for Sealed Proposals was placed in the Beaumont Enterprise, emails were sent to a list of various vendors, and it was posted on the school website. The district received one sealed proposal. The proposal presented by Kommercial Kitchens is in alignment with what they have charged the district in the past. The company is local and is readily available the majority of the time when needed. We recommend the approval of the Kommercial Kitchens sealed proposal.
