7.A. Consider and Approve the Minutes of the Regular Board Meeting of the Board of Trustees of Leakey ISD that was held on Monday, October 17, 2022.

7.B. Consider and Approve payment of the bills and invoices for the period 10/8/2022 through 11/10/2022.

7.C. Consider and Approve a motion to amend something previously adopted. The minutes for the meeting held on August 15, 2022, which were approved on September 19, 2022, are incomplete as it relates to item D. of the Consent Agenda; corrected minutes are attached.

8. Discussion and Business Action Items

8.A. Consider and Approve issuing Covid-19 retention stipends to employees to allow the District to retain high caliber personnel needed to ensure that student needs are met campus-wide. All staff have taken on additional duties as a result of Covid-19 relating to educating, transporting, feeding, and supporting students and providing a safe return to campus. The campus has also experienced exponential enrollment growth throughout the year. ESSER III grant funds will be used to cover the retention stipends. This is a one-time payment to those employed as of November 18, 2022; substitutes and non-contract probationary staff are not eligible.

8.B. Consider and approve granting the superintendent the authority, through January 15, 2023,  to purchase up to $25,000 without Board approval. Before purchases are made, the School Board President and the Superintendent will agree on purchases.  This authority is to make the Library Building ready to house elementary students on Jan. 2, 2023. 

8.C. Consider and Approve a Resolution of Votes Cast to Elect Directors for the Uvalde County Appraisal District Board of Directors for a two-year staggered term effective January 1, 2023, for fiscal years 2023-2024.
