II.C.3. Introduction of Recommended New Wording of Board Policy 5111:
(Current) 5111.d Specific programs that the District provides that are in addition to what is required by law; do not have to be made available to students that live outside of the attendance area or who have been enrolled under the Kent ISD’s school of choice program. This includes Grades K-4 at Ada Vista and the Chinese immersion program. To submit an application to the Goodwillie Environmental 5/6 School, all resident and nonresident students must be enrolled and maintain enrollment at Forest Hills Public Schools by September of second grade. (Recommended for 30-day review) 5111.d Specific programs that the District provides that are in addition to what is required by law; do not have to be made available to students that live outside of the attendance area or who have been enrolled under the Kent ISD’s school of choice program. This includes Grades K-4 at Ada Vista and the Chinese immersion program. To submit an application to the Goodwillie Environmental 5/6 School, a student must be enrolled and maintain enrollment in Forest Hills Public Schools by September of fourth grade. The exception to this rule is a student that becomes a Forest Hills Public Schools resident and enrolls in Forest Hills Public Schools between September 1 and January 31 of their fourth grade year. |
