6. Conduct Public Hearing on District of Innovation:
Following the adoption of a Resolution to Initiate the Process of Designation as a District of Innovation as defined by the 84th Legislative Session in House Bill 1842, the Board of Trustees, shall hold a public hearing to consider whether the District should develop a Local Innovation Plan to designate the District as a District of Innovation. At the conclusion of the public hearing, or as soon as possible after the conclusion of the public hearing, the Board may decline to pursue designation of the District as a District of Innovation or appoint a committee to develop a Local Innovation Plan in accordance with Section 12A.003 of House Bill 1842.

According to House Bill 1842, once the Board of Trustees has completed the Public Hearing and decided to move forward with the District as a District of Innovation process, the Board of Trustees must appoint a District Advisory Committee to develop the Local Innovation Plan. Following the completion of the Local Innovation Plan, it will be posted on the district website for thirty days and presented to the Board during a public hearing.
