IV.A.3. Contracted Services- Regions 7 and 10
Description:
Background:
Education Service Center contracts are presented for processing for the 2024-2025 school year. Administrative Considerations: Contracts for Region 7 and Region 10 are presented. Recommendation: Approve contracts for services as presented. Board Action: Board approval. |
IV.A.4. Approve and Adopt Resolution for the Region 7 Purchasing Cooperative
Description:
Background:
Pursuant to the authority granted by Article 791.011 Interlocal Cooperation Act as amended desires to participate in described purchasing programs of the Regional Purchasing Cooperative. Administrative Considerations: Rains ISD is of the opinion that participation in these programs will be highly beneficial to the taxpayers of the district through the anticipated savings to be realized. Rains ISD does request that the Regional Purchasing Cooperative purchasing program include its stated need for all categories on the Regional Purchasing Cooperative Program annual contracts and Joe Nicks is authorized and directed to sign and deliver all necessary requests and other documents in connection therewith for and on behalf of Rains ISD. Recommendation: Board approval and adoption. Board Action: Board approval. |
IV.A.5. Greenville ISD Regional Day School Program for the Deaf Shared Services Arrangement Agreement
Description:
Background:
A proposed agreement has been received from Walsh Gallegos on behalf of Greenville ISD's Regional Day School Program for the Deaf Shared Services Arrangement. Administrative Considerations: Rains ISD's Special Education Department has had continuing agreements with the Regional Day School Program, in order to have access to their services in the event they are needed. Recommendation: Approve the Greenville ISD's Regional Day School Program for the Deaf Shared Services Arrangement Agreement, as presented. Board Action: As desired by Board. |

IV.B.2. Consider Setting Budget Meeting/Workshop Dates
Description:
Background:
A proposed calendar of dates will be provided to the board in order to set dates for budget workshops and meeting dates. Administrative Considerations: Setting the dates early would assist in working around schedules, vacations, etc. in order for all members to be in attendance. Recommendation: Consider approving the dates presented to the Board by Administration. Board Action: As desired by Board.

Description:
Background:
The Rains County Appraisal District annually prepares a proposed budget that is presented to RISD for review and approval at the July board meeting, according to their budget calendar. Administrative Considerations: As available, the RCAD proposed budget will be presented. Recommendation: For review, and budget approval at the July meeting. Board Action: For review, no action needed at this meeting. |

IV.B.5. Disposal of Portable Building, Greenhouse, and Vehicle Via Auction
Description:
Background:
A portable on the Intermediate campus has been damaged due to water pooling and evaporation into the flooring over several years and more severely recently. The building has become unserviceable and repair to a standard of use for our purposes is impractical. The building was previously used for CDC as a nursery area. These activities are being brought into the main Intermediate building. Additionally, a greenhouse structure on the High School campus has been unused for several years and is not practically serviceable. These structures are recommended for disposal by auction with receiver to remove. Additionally, a 1995 Chevy Dually is no longer in use and repair for use is impractical. This vehicle is being recommended for disposal by auction. |

IV.E.2. PEIMS Data Review
Description:
Background:
DRV Educational Solutions conducted a district-wide PEIMS audit for Rains I.S.D. on April 9th-11th, 2024. Superintendent Joe Nicks will present the PEIMS Data Review report prepared by DRV to the Board. The information in the report was obtained through public data, district data, and by interviewing the staff at Rains ISD. DRVs focus is to help the district validate our data, improve our coding process, and seek additional funding for the district. This is an informational report and does not require board action. |
