IV.A.3. Quarterly Investment Report
Description:
Background:
Chapter 2256, Government Code Public Funds Investment Act requires the district to provide a written investment report. The report contains operating funds not required by the code at the request of the school board. The district maintains three investment pool accounts with nominal funds as a reference for comparisons only (Lone Star, Texas Class, and TexPool). The district places funds in investment accounts to assure safety and liquidity first and maximized yield next. Administrative Considerations: The Quarterly Investment Report. will be provided by Mike Hall. Recommendation: Approve the Quarterly Investment Report, as presented. Board Action: Board approval.

IV.A.5. Region 7- Certification of Superintendent to Regional Advisory Committee
Description:
Background:
Region 7 has provided a form for Certifying the Superintendent to the Regional Advisory Committee. This committee is comprised of all Superintendents/Charter School CEO's in the region. Administrative Considerations: If approved by the Board, the Superintendent would be authorized to serve on the Regional Advisory Committee and execute all documents related to the Education Service Center. Recommendations: Designate our local Superintendent to serve on the Regional Advisory Committee, as presented. Board Action: Board approval. |
IV.A.6. Consider and Approve Agreement for Services with Communities In Schools of Northeast Texas (NETX CIS)
Description:
Background:
Approval the Annual Partnership Agreement with Northeast Texas Communities In Schools. The term of this agreement will be for a period of one school year beginning on September 1, 2024, and ending on August 31, 2025. Administrative Considerations: Site locations/School Campuses/Number of Staff:

IV.C.3. Textbook Adoption for Proclamation 2024
Description:
Background:
Proclamation 2024 allows school district's to research, approve, adopt new curriculum in the following areas that affect Rains ISD: K-12 Science, 1-8 Technology Applications, CTE Courses(Education and Training, Health Science, Law and Public Service) A textbook committee was formed that consisted of teachers in the fields that would use the adoption from each campus as well as instructional coaches from each campus and the district curriculum dept. The committee met as a group to discuss the role of the committee and needs of the students, attended Proclamation Day at Region 7 where they heard several vendors present, had individual presentations on campus from multiple vendors, reviewed samples from multiple vendors, and met again with recommendations for adoption. The following recommendations came from the work of the committee: K-12 Science: McGraw Hill Texas Science: 4 year full adoption price $151,394.40 (To be acquired from the District's Instructional Materials Allotment) 1-8 Technology Applications and CTE Courses: ICEV (part of complete ICEV Suite adopted by CTE for other courses) The materials selected are included on the SBOE adopted list of approved materials as verified by Rains ISD Curriculum Dept. (see attached list of approved materials) Recommendation: Board approval Board Action: Board approval
