Description:  The Utah Division of Facilities Construction and Management has been designated as the sole state authority for the oversight of public school construction projects, replacing the State Board of Education, effective July 1, 2026. This shift ensures standardized cost controls, greater accountability, and compliance with strict safety and efficiency requirements across all Local Education Agencies (LEAs). Full compliance with the new rules is required for all projects beginning construction after January 1, 2027.

The Beaver County School District has several projects every year requiring design plans.  The Facilities Department will make a presentation on the advantages of hiring a multi-year architect to assign in the development of these project designs and compliance with the state standards for facilities managment.

Description:  With so many state laws now requiring or encouraging more parent participation in the creation of district policies, the district is recommending each community council nominate a member to participate in a Parent Committee for Policy Requirement at the district level.  The committee would meet several times each year (generally on the third Monday of the month).  Community Council parents participating could then take back information about policy updates to each school and gather further input as needed.
