11. MEETING RECAP
Description:
1) The Executive Board reviewed the Resolution to Transfer Funds and recommended it to be brought to the Governing Board. 2) The Executive Board reviewed the Installation payment for the geothermal construction project and recommended it be brought to the Governing Board. 3) Proviso Gladiator’s Wrestling Club has requested the use of the PAEC High School gym when the facilities at Proviso High School are not available. The Executive Board reviewed the request, the lease, and recommended it to be brought to the Governing Board. 4) PAEC, at the direction of both Boards, have created an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy department. "It is a scientific approach to understanding learning and behavior." This will start with 1-2 Registered Behavioral Technicians (RBTs) and a part-time Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). BCBAs "promote positive behavioral changes and often specialize in autism, developmental disabilities, and brain injuries." RBTs assist the BCBAs by carrying out the methods of intervention. The department staff will start in D#87 and will expand from there into the other elementary districts. |
