Description:
The last attachment is a PDF of one of the presentations I attended at the ILA Conference in Peoria this month. It is an overview of the role library board members play in fiscal oversight of libraries, and does a good job, in my opinion, of outlining how the budget is tied to the library's strategic plan, how the levy is tied to the budget, how all of this is guided by the library's financial policies, and what things a library director and library trustees should be looking at in the development of the annual budget and levy. It was one of the best sessions I attended at this year's conference, and very timely for this meeting.
