2.3.1. BP 3550 FOOD SERVICE (RL) (2026 Fall Update)

Description:
This policy has been updated to include a new Alaska Statute, AS 14.03.087, which was enacted this legislative session. It states that beginning January 1, 2028, Districts are prohibited from serving breakfasts and lunches that include certain color additives (dyes).

2.3.5. BB 9220 SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS (RL) (2026 Fall Update)

This bylaw has been updated to reflect various changes to law made during this legislative session. Specifically, it includes language to establish: 1) municipal governments may by ordinance modify the length of a school board member’s term in office, 2) that REAA school board members may be employed by their district as substitute teachers, and 3) the language regarding board member eligibility described in the changes to BB 9210.

2.3.6. BB 9210 QUALIFICATIONS (RL) (2026 Fall Update)

Description:
This bylaw has been updated to include language implementing a new law that was passed this legislative session, which prohibits persons who have been convicted of a felony involving moral turpitude from serving on school boards. There is an exception for those who have been unconditionally discharged and at least 10 years have passed since that date.
