Description:  The Banks School District Board of Directors welcomes the public to our January 13th, 2025 Regular Business Meeting.  The Board appreciates your participation in the education of our students and welcomes your continued engagement.

January is School Board Recognition Month—a time to honor the individuals whose decisions profoundly impact our children and strengthen our community. School board members are dedicated citizens who often face difficult decisions, sifting through complex information, and volunteering their time with extraordinary commitment.

Through their governance, advocacy, and collaboration, our board is shaping the future of education here in Banks. We are deeply grateful for their generous support and tireless commitment and their guidance has been an invaluable contribution to our success.

Description:  The meeting will now be open to receive public comment. The Board appreciates community members sharing information during public comments. The Board will listen, and possibly ask clarifying questions but generally will not comment on information we hear from the audience.  However, following the meeting, the chair, vice chair and superintendent will together determine the appropriate response.  The response may be in a public way, a private way or the issue will be added to a future board meeting or work session agenda.  Please note that speakers will have five minutes to express their thoughts.

Description:  At the December session, the Board reviewed the proposed policy updates necessary for recent OSBA legislative changes. It is recommended that the Board makes a motion to adopt the proposed policies as presented. 

Description:  The Board will review the minor policy updates required due to recent legislative changes and should ask clarifying questions as needed.
