Description:
Audience participation at a Board meeting is limited to the public comment portion of the meeting designated for that purpose. Per H.B. 2840 all public comments shall be limited only to items on the board agenda for consideration. At all other times during a Board meeting, the audience shall not enter into discussion or debate on matters being considered by the Board, unless requested by the presiding officer. BED(LOCAL)

Description:

Description:
Senate Bill 13 requires that a list of materials proposed for acquisition in a school library must be made available to the public for review for at least 30 days before the school board votes to approve the purchase of materials. Godley ISD has posted the linked list of library books to purchase on our website and sent it to our library book review committee for more than 30 days and recommends approval of the purchase of these materials. |

Description:
Presentation and approval of Godley ISD Financial Audit for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

8)c) Consider Authorization for School Bus Purchases
Description:
In compliance with TEC Ch. 44 (l) and Board Policy LOCAL CH, each contract authorized by the Superintendent for the purchase or lease of one or more school buses, must be submitted to competitive bidding when the contract is valued at $20,000 or more.

8)d) Consider Approval of Resolution to Pay Non-exempt Employees for Inclement Weather Days
Description:
The public purpose for payment of employees for the work days missed would include increased morale, reduction of employee turnover, reducing the District's exposure to possible unemployment or Fair Labor Standards Act claims, and equitable treatment of all employees.

8)e) Consider Approval of CTE Month MOU
Description:
CTE Month is a public awareness campaign held each February to celebrate CTE, the accomplishments of CTE programs, and the importance of CTE for all students of all ages. This resolution recognizes the Career and Technical Education in Godley ISD and declares the month of February as CTE Month. |

8)f) Consider Resolution to Nominate a Candidate for a Vacancy on the Board of Directors of the Central Appraisal District of Johnson County
Description:
The Central Appraisal District of Johnson County has informed the district about a vacancy for an appointed member. Nominations for candidates to fill this vacancy must be submitted within 45 days. The Board of Directors will select a nominee at its meeting on March 12, 2026.

8)g) Consider Adoption of Resolution Regarding Senate Bill 11: Period of Prayer and Reading of the Bible or Other Religious Text
Description:
SB 11 from the 89th Legislative Session adds Texas Education Code section 25.0823, which allows school boards to designate time each school day at every campus for students and employees to pray and read the Bible or other religious texts. The bill requires that within six months of the effective date (by March 1, 2026), each district’s board must take a record vote either to establish the daily prayer time and reading of religious texts by adopting the resolution set out in the new statute or to decline to establish the daily prayer time. |
