Description:
This is the annual hearing before the Board can consider the adoption of the Godley ISD tax rates. After publishing the required notice, taxpayers have the opportunity to express their views on tax increases at hearings in compliance with Tex. Tax Code § 26 and the Texas Open Meetings Act.

Description:
Audience participation at a Board meeting is limited to the public comment portion of the meeting designated for that purpose. Per H.B. 2840 all public comments shall be limited only to items on the board agenda for consideration. Description:
Review of current year-to-date budget to actuals history and check register for the general operating fund, child nutrition fund, debt service fund, and construction projects.

Description:
Requesting approval to move budgeted funds between functions 11 and 23 to align with the proper account codes. Also, additions for Skyward training and an increase to the SHARS annual payment are included.

Description:
Consider approval of another purchasing cooperative program, Southeast Texas Purchasing (Region 5), to be added to the available resources for GISD procurement.

9)a)5) Addendum to Audit Engagement for 2024-2025
Description:
Addendum to the Snow Garrett Williams Audit Engagement for 2024-2025 originally approved at the February 17, 2025 meeting to change the engagement partner from Lindsey Kennimer, CPA to Rick Kline, CPA.

9)a)6) Consider Approving the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement for Dispatch Services for the Budget Year 2025-2026.
Description:
This is an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement between Johnson County and Godley ISD Police Department for Dispatch Services for budget year 2025-2026. All cooperating agencies get charged a fee based on the volume of dispatch services utilized from Johnson County, estimated from the prior year.

9)b) Consider Adoption of the Hill College Tax Rate
Description:
Consider adoption of the Hill College tax rate for 2025 per Tex. Tax Code § 26, as taxing units other than water districts must adopt the tax rate before September 30th, or 60 days after receiving the certified appraisal roll, whichever date is later.

9)c) Consider Adoption of Godley ISD Tax Rates
Description:
Consider adoption of the Godley ISD property tax rates for 2025 per Tex. Educ. Code § 44, as a school district with a fiscal year beginning July 1 that adopts a budget based on an estimated appraisal roll must wait to adopt the tax rate until after the certified appraisal roll or certified estimate of taxable value is received. A school district must adopt the tax rate before September 30th, or 60 days after receiving the certified appraisal roll, whichever date is later.

9)d) Consider Foreign Exchange Student Waiver through TEA
Description:
Pursuant to TEC §25.001(e), this expedited waiver allows the district to limit the number of foreign exchange students to seven(7) students.

10) Consider the Declaration of Godley ISD's Non-Business Days for 2026
Description:
HB3033 requires governmental bodies to declare 10 non-business days per calendar year. These are days other than weekends, state and national holidays. The dates selected reflect times at or near extended closures, which will help us meet our deadlines. These days must be approved by the board of trustees. |
