Description:
Audience participation at a Board meeting is limited to the public comment portion of the meeting designated for that purpose. Per H.B. 2840 all public comments shall be limited only to items on the board agenda for consideration. At all other times during a Board meeting, the audience shall not enter into discussion or debate on matters being considered by the Board, unless requested by the presiding officer. BED(LOCAL)

Description:
Public Hearing of School FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas) for Godley ISD, including an overview of School FIRST, Godley ISD's rating, and any public comments on the Report.

8.b) Annual ESL Report
Description:
The Texas Education Agency requires school districts to provide an annual update on the Emergent Bilingual program. Students who are considered Emergent Bilingual or EB are those who come to us with a native language other than English. Some students may have two, or more languages including English, while others may only speak their home or first language (L1). This is an area where we are experiencing significant growth and as a district, we are looking for ways to help support students and their families as they transition to a new environment.

Description:
Review of current year-to-date budget to actuals history and check register for the general operating fund, child nutrition fund, debt service fund, and construction projects.

Description:
Budget amendment to update the budget to a 10-month transition of fiscal year from August 31 to June 30.

9.c) Final Review of Godley ISD Campus Improvement Plans for the 2024-25 School Year
Description:
Godley ISD Campus Improvement Plans (DIP) includes the goals and objectives each campus has selected to work toward throughout the year. The goals are very similar as they are tied directly to the district goals presented on the District Improvement Plan. These goals were selected following a comprehensive needs assessment (CNA) and discussion regarding areas that have the potential to make the most impact on students. Each campus principal has a campus site-based committee that works together to make decisions regarding how to best achieve these goals, where to allocate resources and what training is needed.

Description:
District and Campus Administration will present signaling on Student Learning & Progress, Community Engagement & Partnerships, and Safety & Well-Being of the Community Based Accountability System (CBAS)

9.e) Discuss and Consider District of Innovation Amendment for Retire/Rehire
Description:
All school districts must pay retired teachers according to the TEA minimum salary pay scale when hiring them. In addition, districts are required to pay a TRS surcharge and, if applicable, a TRS Care surcharge. Godley ISD seeks the opportunity to hire an eligible retired teacher and offer a negotiated salary that may be below the TEA minimum pay scale, while still covering the required TRS surcharge(s).

9.f) Discuss and Cast Votes for the Tarrant County Appraisal District Board of Directors Nominations
Description:
Taxing entities are assigned a specific number of votes to participate in the appointment of the board of directors for an appraisal district. There are currently 5 positions on the Tarrant County Appraisal District Board up for election. The taxing entity can cast all their votes to one candidate or divide them between two or more candidates on the Official Appraisal District Ballot. Godley ISD is allocated 1 vote in Tarrant County.

9.g) Discuss and Cast Votes for the Central Johnson County Appraisal District Board of Directors Nominations
Description:
Taxing entities are assigned a specific number of votes to participate in the appointment of the board of directors for an appraisal district. There are currently 5 positions on the Johnson County Central Appraisal District Board up for election. The taxing entity can cast all their votes to one candidate or divide them between two or more candidates on the Official Appraisal District Ballot. Godley ISD is allocated 262 votes in Johnson County.
