Educator Shoutouts:
Angela Dieker, Toledo Jr/Sr Ms. Dieker always has a smile on her face, she is kind, welcoming, and all of her students absolutely love her and feel safe with her. Sarah Horobin, Taft 7-12 Sarah is a huge advocate of not only her students, but her fellow teachers as well. She works hard to listen with an understanding and caring ear to everyone she has contact with and I am so grateful for all she does. Kristie Bennett, Taft Elementary Kristie goes out of her way to build meaningful relationships with her students. She is doing some great things in her classroom this year and I particularly enjoyed getting to watch a lesson in her class room in which her students were utilizing both tech and book resources as well as frayer models to define academic vocabulary. Megan Lupo, Taft Elementary Mrs. Lupo has the most calming atmosphere in her classroom. She respects her students show them unconditional love and gentleness. This shines through especially when dealing with challenging behaviors. I can easily see why all her students love her. I also want to shout out to the advanced writing skills she is developing in our 3rd graders. I had the pleasure of observing a lesson in which her students were making connections between their own experiences and the story of the week by comparing and contrasting. Jill Keck, Crestview Heights Jill is such a great Title Teacher. She spends a lot of time with me helping me understand exactly where my students are struggling so that I can teach exactly the info my students need. I appreciate her dedication. |

7.a. Increase to Purchasing Threshhold Policy DJA
Description:
In their last session, the Oregon Legislature approved SB1047 which increases the contract price thresholds for procurement under ORS 279 as follows:
Small Procurement: From $10,000 to $25,000
Intermediate Procurment: From $150,000 to $250,000 Small Public Improvement Contract: From $10,000 to $25,000 This change was made to recognize that prices have risen since ORS 279 was last updated. This section of SB1047 takes effect on January 1, 2024. Federal procurement thresholds remain at: Micro Purchase Threshold: Under $10,000
Simplified Acquisition Threshold: $10,000 to $250,000 Formal Purchase Threshold: Over $250,000 The Superintendent and Business Services Director recommend updating Board Policy DJA effective January 1, 2024 to reflect these new procurement levels.
