3. School Board Policy Discussion

Agenda Item Type: Non-Action Item

Discussion: Items discussed included:

SANB Policy Review Process - an audit will be done to ensure alignment and formatting of all SANB policies.
Policy 606.5 Library Materials (mandatory) - final edits will be reviewed at the October 7th school board meeting.
Data Request Policy - Follow up - The Policy Committee will recommend to the school board that they do not support the creation of a stand-alone Data Request policy. They are recommending continuation with implementation of current procedures.
Policy 806 Crisis Management Policy (mandatory/annual) - this will be brought the the school board at the regularly scheduled time of October 7th.
Policy 503 Student Attendance (legal) - has been reviewed by each district building administrator. First reading will be at the October 7th board meeting. Policy committee will review all changes with Kirsten Donohue at the October 14th Policy Committee meeting.
Consideration for Air quality policy - The Policy Committee will recommend to the school board that they do not support the creation of Air Quality policy. Member of MSHSL board (Dr Corneille and Kristi Peterson) are working with MSHSL to ensure best practices; there is medical advising (health and safety) to the MSHSL
Proposed 25-26 Policy Review - scope and sequence updated.
