3. ACTION ITEMS
|
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3.1. Certification of the 2023 Pay 2024 Levy
Discussion:
This action is to approve the 2023 Pay 2024 Levy as outlined in the Truth in Taxation presentation. The Levy 2023 Pay 2024 levy is for $3,112,083.13, which is an increase of $126,668.41 or 4.24% from the 2022-Pay 2023 levy. The fund breakdown is as follows:
This action is recommended by the Superintendent. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3.2. Set Special School Board Meeting
Discussion:
This action is to establish a special school board meeting for the purpose of reviewing and accepting the FY23 audit. The audit process is currently not fully completed. Therefore, a special board meeting must be scheduled unless the school board is comfortable with a January audit presentation. Dana F. Cole & Company will be prepared and reviewed by Mr. McKittrick and Mr. Spray in order to submit the audit to MDE on schedule. However, if the board would like the presentation prior to submission, a special meeting will need to be scheduled for either December 26 or December 27.
|

3.3. The resolution directs the administration to develop recommendations on staffing, programs, and budgets for the 2024-2025 school year.
Discussion:
This is an annual item. Prior to establishing a budget and potentially making staffing changes, it is essential that the administration review programs and positions and give consideration to program changes for the coming fiscal year.
This action does not indicate that the district will be making a budget reduction, although that is a possibility, rather it is a formal directive to the Superintendent to review and present to the school board appropriate information to ensure staffing, programming, and budgets align prior to budget approval for FY25.
