Rationale:
Bunny Yesner - Began her career as a librarian in the 1950’s at Center School. Taught Library Science at SCSU and Uconn before joining BRS in 1987. Retired June 2000 @ age 76, taught at BRS for 13 years. Served on the BOE – 7/2001-6/2005 - Vice Chair 7/03-6/05. 1992 Recognized by the Connecticut Educators Computer Association 1991 Recognized by Encyclopaedia Britannica Corp and the American Association of School Librarians named BRS Library Media Center – The Best in the Nation 1995 BRS Teacher of the Year 1996 - CEMA (Connecticut Educational Media Association) Service Award; 50th Anniversary Honor Role of the American Library Association for the State of Connecticut. Chair of the New Haven Library Power District Advisory Committee Britannica Library Program of the Year Award Chair of the Distinguished School Administrator Awards Committee/American Association of School Librarians. 1998 – SCSU Outstanding Educator Award 1996 – Representative on the Delegation of People to People Mission in Understanding – South Africa 2000 – Representative on the Delegation od People to People Mission in Understanding - Cuba Ms. Yesner donated in excess of $8,500 in books to the library during her years at BRS. A master storyteller and it has been said “the magic that happens when Bernice tells a story to a group of children can only be described by watching the eyes and faces of the children. When she steps into the Library it awakens and becomes alive and invites children as well as adults to sample its treasures.

Rationale:
The Board welcomes public participation and asks that speakers please limit their comments to five minutes. Speakers may offer objective comments of school operations and programs that concern them. To protect the integrity of the impartiality of the Board, we will not permit any expression of personal complaints or potential defamatory comments about Board of Education personnel and students, nor against any person connected with the Woodbridge School District. Such issues should be brought to the school administration.
