4.2.a. Project Aware Grant
Rationale:
Bristol Family Resource Centers is submitting a proposal to the Bristol Youth Services/Project Aware Fund for the purpose of expanding our Parents As Teacher’s (PAT) Personal Home Visiting program and playgroup services to families residing in the Greene-Hills school district and nearby school districts. The Personal Visit program offers a monthly home visit to parents with children ages birth to five to provide child development information, Ages and Stages screening and provide ongoing support and education to parents. Parent Educator are required to have lesson plans for each playgroup that meet the State Department of Education benchmarks for preschoolers and meet the developmental guidelines outlined in the PAT Curriculum for early education. Parent Educators assist the parent in getting additional early intervention services if any developmental delay is suspected. This grant will cover staffing cost for home visits and the supplies necessary to offer a developmentally appropriate playgroup setting as well as funding to send a Parent Educator and parents to one day of the “Together We Will” parenting conference.

Rationale:
We need authorization for the Assistant to the Superintendent for Business to sign releases of ownership for retiree 457 accounts. As the owners of the account, the Board of Education must sign a release of ownership for the retirees to cash in their accounts.
