4. Action Items

4.a. ACTION/DISCUSSION on TEKS Certification 2023-24 Form - In accordance with TEC §31.004, LEAs are required to certify annually to the SBOE and the commissioner that students have access to instructional materials covering all TEKS for all required subjects, except Physical Education.

4.b. ACTION/DISCUSSION ON: Resolution on Vouchers, Education Savings Accounts, Taxpayer Savings Grants, and other mechanisms that reduce public education funding.  This resolution calls on the Texas Legislature to reject and diversion of public dollars to private entities in the form of education savings accounts and similar voucher schemes.

7. EXECUTIVE SESSION:  If during the course of the meeting, a discussion of any item on the agenda should be held in a closed meeting, the board will conduct a closed meeting in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, and Chapter 551, Subchapters D and E or Texas Government Code section 418.183(f).  Before any closed meeting is convened, the presiding officer will publicly identify the section or sections of the Act authorizing the closed meeting.  All final votes, actions, or decisions will be taken in open meeting.
