5. RECOGNITION OF STUDENTS RECEIVING CAPSS AND CABE STUDENT LEADERSHIP AWARDS
Rationale:
Four students were awarded this year’s Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE) Student Leadership Award for Killingly Public Schools. This is a very impressive honor that is awarded to carefully chosen students in Connecticut public schools. The criteria when selecting a student is to look for leadership skills, willingness to take on challenges, capability to make difficult decisions, concern for others, ability to work with others, willingness to commit to a project, diplomacy, ability to understand issues clearly and the ability to honor commitment.
Six students were awarded this year’s Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents (CAPSS ) Leadership Award. The goal when selecting a student is to look at a student’s accomplishments, that not only include academic success but also service, activities, and leadership, making them deserving of this award and a role model for other students. |
