5.B. KIS Students who participated in the Eastern Region Middle School Music Festival.
Rationale:
The following KIS students were selected, through a rigorous audition process, to participate in the Eastern Region Middle School Music Festival. The festival took place on March 5 & 6th at RHAM and both the choir and instrumental performances were outstanding. We would to publicly recognize these students and present them with Certificates of Achievement. They are:

5.C. TSA Update with Mr. Hutson and Students
Rationale:
Mr. James Hutson, Technology teacher at KHS and the State Director of the Technology Student Association (TSA) will address the board regarding the most recent state conference for TSA, held at KHS.
On Saturday, April 2nd, Killingly High School hosted 20 schools and 220 students from all over CT for the 38 th Annual CT State TSA Conference (Technology Student Association). Approximately 300 students, advisors, judges, parents, and guests attended the conference. KHS hosted 44 different technology competitions for HS and MS students ranging from Biotechnology, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Public Speaking, Video Production, Photographic Technology and numerous other events.
Killingly HS was honored to receive several awards such as:

Per Connecticut State regulations we are required to put our food services out to a bid process at a minimum every five (5) years. A total of two (2) bids were received. A committee was formed, led by our Manager of Business Affairs, Christine Clark. Based on State evaluation criteria the committee has made a recommendation to award the contract at this meeting.
A draft of the contract will be submitted to the CSDE followed by an executed contract, due by May 30th. The Board will also receive a copy of this contact for approval.

The statutory criteria were already included in Policy 6172.61 (Credit for Online Courses). As a result, it makes sense for the Board to consider and approve combining these two policies. The single policy governs all credits for online and virtual learning.
