Rationale:  This agenda is for the student expulsion hearing scheduled for Monday, January 11 at 7:00 p.m. at KIS in the Professional Development Center.

Rationale:  Attached is a request by a Killingly High School student, Aadam Barclay.  He has been chosen to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum in Washington, DC in the spring of 2010.  Students are nominated by teachers; I believe that other KHS students may have also been selected by the NYLF this year.

He sent a letter addressed to each board member asking the Board for a donation to help him attend the forum.  As a Board, this has never been done even though there were other Killingly High School students who were given this opportunity in the past.  As individual Board members, you may wish to consider his request but that would be your own personal decision.  I would not recommend that the Board expend district funds in this manner.  However, if the Board wishes to do a donation as the "Board", it would need to be done as soon as possible as Aadam needs to raise the funds by January 15th.
