7.B. Administrative Update
Rationale:
Kindergarten Numbers for 2024-2025
Student Success Plans (College & Career) BMS Timeline Student Success Plans Bethel High School Literacy & Math Data Grades 1 & 2: We have updated our literacy data to reflect grades 1 & 2. Kindergarten does their testing at the end of May. The growth was very impressive, which we believe is directly related to the new core resource and professional learning focus on the science of reading. I will also provide the mathematics data when updated,
Mathematics: We have never seen this high of growth in mathematics, in terms of the number of students at proficiency, those who met growth goals, and the percentage of students who maintained their levels. Although not all of the data is complete, I would invite you to look at the tables below, which illustrates the progress.
Comparison of School Day SAT Scores: SBAC (Literacy and Mathematics) & NGSS (Science) State Testing has begun and we will likely be extended through the next few weeks. Hiring Update Bus Protocols for Motor Vehicle Violations or Passing of the Bus: With our new cameras, we worked out a protocol to report motor vehicle violations or when a car passes a bus when the lights are flashing. The Bethel Police Department has provided a form for First Student. They complete the form and send the video to the police. The bus driver then had to take the bus to the station for the police to finalize the statement and verify that the lights were working. They have begun to implement those new protocols. Deb Hart, our Depot Manager, did say that a problem they are encountering is that some vehicles do not have a front license plate, which makes prosecution impossible. Attended Superintendent Network's annual retreat at Harvard University. Security Stipend |
