Gifts, Grants, Bequests

• A grant of $2,950 in gift cards for PPE was received from The HOME Depot.  It was used for products distributed to all five schools of Hand Sanitizers, Wipes, Paper Towels and Microban Spray.  

Rationale:  Mr. Troetti will be providing the Board of Education an overview of the final NEASC Report .  We want to thank Mr. Troetti and his team for such outstanding work in a very challenging environment to host a NEASC visit.  We have published the report on our performance, College and Career Readiness dashboard.

This SEL Coach job description has been sent the the Board of Education Previously for feedback.  The position is to be funded for three (3) years out of the ESSR II grant.  The job goal is as follows:

The SEL Coach consults regularly with Classroom Teachers and Building Principals with the aim of improving social-emotional functioning for all students in the district. The SEL coach engages in extensive, on-going collaboration with teachers for the purpose of assessing student needs, providing social-emotional instruction, utilizing SEL-based strategies  in the classroom, and developing and improving district SEL curriculum. 

 

Rationale: 

As you are aware, included in the budget presentation was an additional position to support the technology department.  Attached, you will find a draft job description for this position, IT Technician.  In developing this job description, it gave the Department an opportunity to redefine roles and responsibilities to become more efficient.  Therefore, for your consideration, we are recommending the following revisions to:

• Supervisor of Technical Operations
• IT Network Administrator
• IT Lead Technician
• IT Technician

Again, the whole Department in coordination with the Supervisor of Digital Learning contributed to the suggested revisions.

• *CSDE requires annual certification by the Board of Education for participation in the Healthy Foods Certification Program
• *In participating, Bethel can only serve beverages, foods, snacks and a la carte items that have been specifically approved by the CSDE.
• *For participation, the District receives and additional 10 cents reimbursement from the State on each meal served. This is important to the financial success of our program.
