8.A.1.c. 1212 Policy & Regulation-School Volunteers
Speaker(s):
Christine Carver
Rationale:
As discussed in our previous meeting, we need to create a definition of a volunteer vs. a school visitor or supervised helper. The distinction will create a sperate set of protocols. Upon further reflection, we are recommending that the Board consider using the Shipman and Goodwin model policy for volunteers. This document creates the distinction (in the regulartions) that we believe we need in determining who is a volunteer. |
8.A.2. Second Reading
|
8.A.2.a. Policy 5131.913 - Cyberbullying (The Use of Technology to Harm Others)
Speaker(s):
Christine Carver
Rationale:
The District Safe School Climate & Wellness Committee set a goal to develop strategies to help reduce student anxiety related to social media and electronic communications. One of the strategies that the Committee focused on was to review the Cyberbullying Policy, which has not been reviewed since 2010. The changes recommended are by the Committee. The largest change is in the updated definition. The District Safe School Climate plan contains the proactive action steps and consequences for cyberbullying. Policy went to Board for 1st reading 4/25/19. Revisions from 4/25/19 policy meeting made.
