September 7, 2017 at 7:00 PM - Board of Education Policy Committee Meeting

Rationale:  Policy 5132, Dress Code has not been revised in many years.  The regulation in particular is outdated and should be reviewed.  After an initial review of the committee, we feel that the regulation should be reviewed by administration and get parental input before it is submitted to the full Board of Education. 

Rationale: 

As discussed, the current policy and regulation has a number of inconsistencies that need to be addressed, particulary as it relates to international trips.   It is our recommendation that we separate the Field Trip Policy into two sperate policies - Field Trips and International Trips.  

The Board of Education had requested data on field trips taken out of state last year (attached).  Please note, Berry and Rockwell did not have any out of state trips.  Last Year, Dr. Brooks sent out a survey to find out what districts supported international trips.  The responses are attached.  She sent out a more recent one (to hopefully get more responses).  When we have that information, we will forward it to you.
