• Updated and revised curriculum maps.
• Assessments were revised to focus on rigor in the four areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening.

• Developed a curriculum map and assessments in collaboration with honors teacher from BHS and 8th grade accelerated teacher at BMS.The map and pacing guides were completed and the first few assessments were constructed.

• Incorporated communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking and problem solving skills into curriculum content.
• Edited and revised essential questions to align with the Connecticut’s Core Standards and the C3 Framework disciplinary concepts.
• Incorporated civic, global, historical, geographic and economic literacy into tasks, outcomes and assessments.
• Began construction of the common assessments aligned to the Connecticut’s Core Standards and the C3 framework.

• Revised writing rubrics to more closely align with the Connecticut’s Core Standards.
• Developed formative and summative assessments aligned with specific reading and writing standards.
• Revised writing benchmark assessments, incorporating appropriate articles and videos to build background knowledge and level the playing field for students.
