We operate under the Open Meetings Act and utilize Roberts Rule of Order to govern our discussion and decision-making process. There is an opportunity for public comment during our set agenda. We welcome the public to express their opinions during this time of our agenda. Board action is required to approve having a therapy dog at the elementary. I recommend approving the therapy dog. For now, they have received significant donations to obtain the dog and begin care, but there may be some expense potentially down the road.

VIII.a. Superintendent Evaluation Training

Description:
MASB has made the necessary adjustments to their evaluation instrument and training program to reflect the latest legislative changes regarding superintendent evaluations. The training must be completed before the September 1, 2024, legislative deadline. The Calhoun Intermediate School District (CISD) has scheduled June 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. (in person); and August 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. (Zoom), which board members can attend. If the board wants to schedule a date to hold the training in Union City, we can find out how much this would cost.

There is a time for public participation during the meeting as indicated in agenda items five (V) and ten (X).
