Action Agenda (10 min)
|
Discuss and consider action to request the TEA for RCISD Lone Star Online Academy to be divided into two separate campuses due to a significant increase in student enrollment; the request is to divide LSOA into a Kindergarten - 5th grade campus and a 6th - 8th grade alternative campus
Description:
I recommend requesting the TEA to divide RCISD current LSOA into 2 separate campuses. Currently, LSOA is one campus kindergarten to 8th grade. Due to a significant increase in student enrollment, the recommendation will provide additional staff, resources, and reduce the number of students per campus. Moreover, the separation of the campuses would provide a better focus on student achievement and attendance to increase academic success.
