I. Public Hearing and Special Board Meeting:

I.A. Somerset ISD will hold a Public Hearing at 6:30 P.M., on Monday, August 24, 2026 for the purpose of discussing the school district's proposed 2026-2027 Budget and 2026-2027 Tax Rate.

Public participation in the discussion is invited.

The Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees of Somerset Independent School District will be held immediately following the conclusion of the Public Hearing of the Somerset Independent School District's Proposed 2026-2027 Budget Meeting and 2026-2027 Tax Rate.

VI.A. Discussion and possible action regarding the review and approval of the Final Budget Amendment to the 2025-2026 General Operating Budget.

VI.B. Discussion and possible action regarding the review and approval to adopt the Somerset ISD Budget for the 2026-2027 school year.

VI.C. Discussion and possible action regarding the review and approval to accept the Certified Atascosa and Bexar Counties Appraisal Rolls for tax year 2026 for the Somerset Independent School District.

VI.D. Discussion and possible action regarding the review and approval of the Resolution designating the officer responsible for calculating, certifying, and reporting the No-New-Revenue Tax Rate, Voter-Approval Tax Rate, and other Truth-in-Taxation requirements for Tax Year 2026.

VI.E. Discussion and possible action regarding the review and approval of the No-New-Revenue (NNR) Tax Rate, and the Voter-Approval Tax Rate (VATR), and the Rate to Maintain Same Level of Maintenance & Operations Revenue & Pay Debt Service for Tax Year 2026.

VI.F. Discussion and possible action regarding the review and approval of the Ordinance and Resolution adopting the tax rate for the Somerset Independent School District 2026 tax year.

VI.G. Discussion and possible action regarding the review and approval of the renewal of the Legal Services Retainer Agreement with Walsh Gallegos Kyle Robinson & De Los Santos P.C., for 2026-2027.

VI.H. Discussion and possible action regarding the review and approval of the Legal Services Agreement with JCA Law, PLLC (Legal Training and Special Education Counsel) for 2026-2027.

VI.I. Discussion and possible action regarding the review and approval of RFP 26-006, Child Nutrition Equipment, for the purchase of commercial kitchen equipment from qualified vendors to support district cafeteria operations.  This agenda is for Somerset High School for the purchase of ovens.  Installation will be a separate cost to be determined at a future date.
