5.a. CONSIDER/APPROVE the cafeteria proposal to raise the breakfast and lunch meals by ten cents. (ACTION ITEM)
Description:
When operating the National School Lunch Program, the school district must complete a Paid Lunch Equity Tool to determine meal pricing for the following school year. White Oak ISD must raise the meal prices of paid lunches to equitably meet the reimbursement rate received for free student meals. White Oak ISD must raise the paid meal pricing by $0.10 for breakfast and lunch for the upcoming school year. The district has not raised meal pricing in several years to ensure that our students have access to our delicious meals at the lowest cost to families. The new price for paid breakfast meals PK-12 is $2.10; paid lunch meals for PK-5 are $2.60; and paid lunch meals for 6-12 are $2.85.
This increase is the minimum amount, and we appreciate your support of White Oak ISD Child Nutrition. |

Description:
HS Trip for 2025-2026 School Year
We will be going to Orlando, Florida (Universal Studios All 4 Parks). The current cost is $1500-$1600. We will need to do this as much in advance as possible to allow for monthly payments to the trip. We will depart on June 3rd, 2026 (Wednesday) and return June 7th (Sunday). The students will visit all 4 Universal parks including the NEW Epic Park. We will partake in a cross curriculum experience call Special FX Tour which will take the students behind the scenes on ride production and special effects covering music, science, Technology, and history that goes into the rides and attractions at the parks. We anticipate 60-70 Students, Directors, & Chaperones (with Background checks). The students will stay at a Universal resort for this trip and fly to help reduce the rising costs of travel. We will need approval from the board before we can continue plans. Please let me know if you have any further questions. I am attaching the information to this trip on the this email as well. |
