Notice to the Public of Telephone or Video Conferencing:
Pursuant to Governor Abbott's Temporary Modification of Open Meetings Laws issued March 16, 2020 to advance the public health goal of limiting face-to-face meetings, this meeting may be conducted via telephone conference or video conference. As such, the open forum meeting has changed to comply with the orders by Gov. Abbott, Waller County and other health authorities including the Centers for Disease Control. The Board President, presiding officer or trustees may not be physically present at one location but a quorum will be required for the meeting.
The open meeting will begin at 6:30 pm and will occur through free video conference. Access to the videoconference is available via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/7073779048
and at www.royal-isd.net. Access to the agenda documents will be available the day of the meeting on the RISD website. Individuals who wish to participate in the public comment portion of the meeting may do so by signing up in advance of the meeting. To sign up to speak, that individual must send an email to email@example.com by 5:00 p.m. Thursday October 15, 2020 with your name, specific topic of discussion, and a phone number. Please also include your mailing address, designate whether you reside in Royal ISD and if you have children in Royal ISD Schools. At the outset of the public forum, speakers that sign up will be called individually on the number provided and allowed to speak to the Board, via Zoom video conference or audio. If the call is unanswered after two attempts, we will move to the next speaker. Please note participation in public comment will remain governed by Royal ISD Board Policy BED. A recording of this Regular Board Meeting shall be made and an archived copy will be available on the Internet for not less than two years.
