CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF AN ORDER BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SHALLOWATER INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF “SHALLOWATER INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT UNLIMITED TAX SCHOOL BUILDING BONDS, SERIES 2022”; LEVYING A CONTINUING DIRECT ANNUAL AD VALOREM TAX FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE BONDS; PRESCRIBING THE FORM, TERMS, CONDITIONS, AND RESOLVING OTHER MATTERS INCIDENT AND RELATED TO THE ISSUANCE, SALE, AND DELIVERY OF THE BONDS, INCLUDING THE APPROVAL AND DISTRIBUTION OF AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT PERTAINING THERETO; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A PAYING AGENT/REGISTRAR AGREEMENT AND AN OFFICIAL BID FORM; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF ANY NECESSARY ENGAGEMENT AGREEMENTS WITH THE DISTRICT’S FINANCIAL ADVISORS AND/OR BOND COUNSEL; COMPLYING WITH THE LETTER OF REPRESENTATIONS ON FILE WITH THE DEPOSITORY TRUST COMPANY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE

8.C.1. Hire Teresa Shires for the Shallowater Middle School assistant principal (waiver)
Description:
After extensive interviews, Teresa Shires has been determined to be the most appropriate person to serve in the assistant principal position. Teresa has 7 years of teaching experience at Shallowater Intermediate and 2 years as a paraprofessional at Shallowater Elementary. She served as Summer School Principal this summer at SMS. She is currently completing her master's degree and certification program. We will request a TEA waiver for the 2022-23 school year to cover her certification.

Description:
Salary Schedule will be presented, incorporating a 3% raise. In addition, the recommendation is to eliminate in policy requiring a contribution to Sick Leave Bank for extended sick leave and to add one additional day of sick leave for a total of 5 local leave days.
